Permanent archives for the CSSR have been established at the library of the University of Regina. Judith Rice Henderson from the University of Saskatchewan generously donated personal documents for the establishment of this collection. Here is a list of the documents to be found:

Miscellaneous CSSR History, including the programs of the founding meetings of the society, the Canadian Seminar of the International Society for the History of Rhetoric (ISHR), held at the Learned Societies, UQAM, 29 May 1980, and Dalhousie University, 23 May 1981; Vol. III, No. 1 (1981), of the Institute for Renaissance Interdisciplinary Studies Newsletter, Albany, NY, with Professor Rheault’s report on the International Society for the History of Rhetoric (ISHR) and its American and Canadian branches, pp. 6-8; correspondence and minutes from the period of a name change from Canadian Society for the History of Rhetoric to Canadian Society for the Study of Rhetoric and attempts to found a journal in place of the occasional Proceedings.
Canadian Society for the Study of Rhetoric Newsletter: Vols. 1-5 and Vol. 7, No. 1, and its successor, Rhetor, Vol 13, No 1 (12 issues in all). Professor Rheault requested also Vol. 16, No 2, but unfortunately Judith Rice Henderson’s collection ends with Vol. 15. Thanks to Sylvain Rheault, we also now have posted excerpts from early newsletters, which chronicle Judith Rice Henderson’s opening address at the 1981 seminar of what is now the CSSR, as well as the motion to change the name of the society to the Canadian Society for the Study of Rhetoric in 1991. Additional details about the history of the CSSR are also available.

Programs, Abstracts, Registration, and ISHR Administrative Materials: From the joint conference of the International Society for the History of Rhetoric (ISHR) and the Canadian Society for the Study of Rhetoric (CSSR) at the University of Saskatchewan in July 1997, when Judith Rice Henderson was President of the ISHR. The complete file on organization of this joint conference and Professor Rheault’s other work for the International Society for the History of Rhetoric (ISHR) will eventually be deposited with materials on Professor Rheault’s career in the University of Saskatchewan Archives.

Professeur Rheault a demandé également vol. 16, numéro 2, mais malheureusement la collection Judith Rice Henderson arrèt avec vol. 15. Merci à Sylvain Rheault, nous également maintenant avons signalé des extraits des bulletins tôt, qui font la chronique du Judith Rice Henderson; discours d’ouverture des lors de la conférence 1981 de ce qui est maintenant la SCÉR, aussi bien que le mouvement pour changer le nom de la société en société canadienne pour l’étude de la rhétorique en 1991. Programmes, résumés, enregistrement, et matériaux administratifs d’SIHR: De la conférence commune de la société internationale pour l’histoire de la rhétorique (SIHR) et de la société canadienne pour l’étude de la rhétorique (SCÉR) à l’université de Saskatchewan en juillet 1997, quand Judith Rice Henderson était président de l’SIHR. Le dossier complet sur l’organisation de cette conférence commune et travail de professeur Rheault’s de tout autre pour la société internationale pour l’histoire de la rhétorique (SIHR) sera par la suite déposé avec des matériaux sur la carrière de professeur Rheault’s à l’université des archives de Saskatchewan.
